What is the pain point?
According to Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotions, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) cumulated almost half of a portion of Thai total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In recent year, 2016, Total Thai GDP equals to 13,533,596 Million THB. This amount includes GDP from SME Enterprises of 5,559,534 Million THB which is 41.1% out of the Total GDP. And in 2015, GDP from SME Enterprises is 6,061,143 Million THB or 42.2% from the total GDP of 14,366,557 Million THB.
SMEs growth reflects the ability to drive Thai Economy forward. And despite the size of these enterprises, they are as important to Thai economy and employment rate.
However, We found that many SME enterprises face problem of obtaining fund. Many of the SME owners literally started their businesses from their savings. Once needed more fund, entering into the traditional loan approvals can be challenging. Problems that many SME enterprises would face during processing their loan approvals are no asset pledged as collateral, have to fulfill many requirements, required many documents, and have to wait for a long time to process.
Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation also agreed that one of the most painful problems for Thai SMEs is sourcing fund. This problem causes many potential SMEs to shut down.
Another pain point is toward the investor side. Investment tools comparable to our product are those tools generating return in form of consistent interest such as Bank Savings, Government Bonds, Corporate Bonds, and Debentures. These tools caused pain to investor because they generate very small returns unless investors choose to invest for longer period of time.
