Thai Fintech Association (“TFTA”) ‘s President, Mr. Korn Chatikavanij, meets with the 14 fintech startups in the fintech sandbox (“F13”) on 28 November 2017, at the office of TFTA on the floor 13th of the Knowledge Exchange Center (KX). This is the first meeting of President with the F13 teams. TFTA will officially arrange the grand opening of F13 and introduce all 14 teams to the public in early of 2018.
“The model of our fintech sandbox (“F13”) is quite similar to sandboxes in other countries; for example, in Singapore and Malaysia where the government has supported the setting and operating of sandbox which run by the private or independent organization. We expect to receive similar support from our government through the Ministry of Finance. The starting of F13 is an important milestone that will help developing the fintech industry in Thailand further.” said Mr. Korn Chatikavanij, President of Thai Fintech Association.
TFTA has missions to support and promote the development of fintech industry in Thailand, this includes supporting Thai fintech startups to grow and be able to compete in the international and global levels. F13, Fintech Sandbox, is locating on the floor 13th of the Knowledge Exchange Center (KX), with area of 300 square meters. F13 is a place where fintech startups can develop and test their fintech innovations, with supporting from TFTA’s staff in many ways such as collaboration with financial institutions, being intermediaries with the regulators (the Bank of Thailand, Securities and Exchanges Commission Thailand, and Office of Insurance Commission). This will help fintech startups to develop the fintech innovations faster, easier and more efficient.
