Clarification on Thai Fintech Association’s Involvement in Fintech Festival Thailand 2023

Dear Members, Partners, and Stakeholders,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits.

I am reaching out as President of the Thai Fintech Association (TFA) to clarify our relationship with the recent Fintech Festival Thailand 2023 held at the Royal Paragon Hall and emphasize our unwavering commitment to regulatory compliance.

TFA’s Role: TFA is not the organizer of the Fintech Festival Thailand 2023. While we deeply respect and appreciate all initiatives that advance our industry, the event was the sole endeavor of Finexpo, as can be verified on their official website (https://finexpo.org).

TFA Space at Siam Paragon: TFA proudly houses its dedicated “TFA Space” on the 4th floor of Siam Paragon, where we regularly host international seminars and enriching events. However, the Fintech Festival Thailand at Royal Paragon Hall and our events at TFA Space are distinct separate events, with no overlaps.

Panel Participation and Withdrawal: Some of our committee members were invited by Finexpo to participate as panelists, based on their personal expertise. When it came to our attention that there might have been booths or exhibition potentially offering unlicensed investment services, we took immediate action. Upholding our commitment to the ethical standards and compliance in the fintech industry, we advised our committee members to withdraw from their panelist roles.

Commitment to Regulatory Compliance: TFA stands steadfast in its commitment to full regulatory compliance. We not only ensure our adherence to all regulations but also ardently encourage our members, partners, and all industry stakeholders to do the same. Trust and integrity in our industry are of paramount importance to us.

Future Collaborations: As we move forward, TFA is keen to foster collaborations and partnerships that elevate Thailand’s fintech scene. Given the scale and impact of events like the one organized by Finexpo, we believe that there is an exciting potential for a significant fintech event in Thailand for 2024. We hereby extend an open invitation for discussions and collaborations to realize this vision.

To all our members, partners, and stakeholders, we appreciate your trust and partnership. TFA will continue striving to uphold the highest standards and drive forward the evolution of fintech in Thailand.

Thank you for your attention, understanding, and continued support.

Warm regards,
Chonladet Khemarattana
President, Thai Fintech Association (TFA)
